Funding to implement the updated 'Disability Inclusion Planning – A Guide for Local Government'
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to fund the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) to implement the updated 2016 Disability Inclusion Planning – A Guide for Local Government (the Guide). This will improve outcomes for people with disability by improving the ability of local governments and councils to: • plan, • deliver, • promote accessible, inclusive services, workplaces, and communities. International Cultural Diplomacy Arts Fund (ICDAF)
The International Cultural Diplomacy Arts Fund (ICDAF) supports activities in Australia and around the world that promote the Australian Government’s international arts and cultural engagement and cultural diplomacy priorities, and assist the Government in meeting Australia’s international commitments relating to arts and culture. ICDAF is designed to contribute to the overall arts and cultural development work of the Office for the Arts in the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts. It also aims to contribute to broader government objectives, in shaping and supporting Australia’s cultural landscape and Australia’s reputation abroad, and in promoting participation in, and access to, Australia’s arts and culture.
Rugby League in the Pacific
The Australian Government has announced a total of $600 million in funding over ten years for Rugby League in the Pacific (the program). A total of $480 million over ten years will be available through this grant program. The program will run over ten years from 2024-25 to 31 December 2034. It will support the entry of a men’s Papua New Guinea (PNG) team into the National Rugby League (NRL) competition no later than 2028. It will also support women’s PNG team to compete in either the Queensland Women’s Premiership or the New South Wales Women’s Premiership and, subject to an assessment of its readiness, in the NRLW Premiership. There are three grant opportunities: NRL licence; PNG NRL Franchise; and Pacific Rugby League Strategy.
Remote Australia Employment Service Closed Non-Competitive Grant Opportunity
The Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) replaces the Community Development Program (CDP) and will begin in remote communities on 1 November 2025. The RAES will provide more opportunities for job seekers and service providers who live and work across more than 2,600 communities in remote Australia. It will support around 40,000 job seekers in remote Australia who are currently receiving income support payments to build their skills and address barriers to employment. It will differ from the CDP by supporting successful providers to work collaboratively with communities on projects and with job seekers to understand their needs. Interested organisations in RAES regions (currently known as CDP regions) can apply for funding through a non-competitive grants process to deliver this new service. A RAES grant will help you provide a flexible employment service to job seekers in remote communities that supports them to upskill, find pathways to work and contribute to their community. This includes providing the skills, training and mentoring they need to take up job opportunities – which could also be those created through the Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) program.
2026-2029 Indigenous Employment Initiative
The purpose of the Indigenous Employment Initiative (IEI) is to create entry level employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who will support the provision of culturally safe, trauma aware, and healing informed aged care to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a suitably skilled workforce. The objectives are to: • ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are provided employment and training opportunities in their communities in entry level, non-clinical aged care positions • provide culturally safe training programs to develop an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce that will provide high quality services and meet community needs • provide culturally safe, trauma aware, and healing informed aged care to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on country and/or close to home • improve the quality and access to aged care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people • support the expansion of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce across Australia • provide consistent and stable funding and certainty for organisations in receipt of grant funding, and • contribute to the Australian Government’s Closing the Gap targets by employing and training Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in entry level aged care positions in their communities. Comprehensive Primary Health Care - ACCHS Division of Service Delivery
The Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) Program is a component of the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme (IAHP). The purpose of this grant opportunity is to allocate funding under the IAHP CPHC stream to select Aboriginal community-controlled health services (ACCHS) in local communities, previously serviced by existing ACCHS funded under the IAHP CPHC rolling funding arrangements. This grant opportunity will allow eligible organisations to demonstrate their capacity to provide a sustainable model of health care that will deliver high quality, culturally safe, multi- disciplinary, and integrated CPHC for First Nations people in their communities. An essential requirement of CPHC funding is that grantees must provide essential primary health care, which, includes general practice and clinical services delivered by suitably qualified medical professionals. Grantees have the flexibility to determine what other eligible services will be delivered in order to meet identified community health and wellbeing needs, and determine the appropriate workforce required to implement those services. Those services may include: • population health programs • activities that support the delivery of essential clinical services • improving access to antenatal care and child, maternal and family health services for First Nations children, their mothers and families • the prevention, detection and management of chronic diseases • investment in priority health areas in regions of high health need or population growth and • improving the clinical effectiveness of the health system and supporting sustainable, long-term service reform delivery and improvement through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support program, Closed Non-Competitive Grant Round 2026-27
Funding will be provided to organisations for activities that best contribute to delivery of the following Program outcomes: a professional, viable and ethical Indigenous visual arts industry that features strong participation by, and provides economic opportunities for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people the continued production, exhibition, critique, purchase and collection of Indigenous visual art.
Community Child Care Fund Restricted (CCCFR) non-competitive grant opportunity (for specified services)
The Australian Government has announced a package of early childhood measures as part of the Australian Government’s commitment to achieving Closing the Gap targets. The department will be working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peak bodies, communities and services to expand the CCCFR program. The funding announced to expand the CCCFR program will include the establishment of up to 20 new early childhood education and care (ECEC) services in mainly remote communities. Additional funding of $29.9 million over 4 years has been allocated for this expansion, on top of approximately $55 million per annum expended in the existing CCCFR program. Identification of new CCCFR sites will be informed by data on service gaps and in consultation with peak bodies, State and Territory governments and other key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders. The expanded program aims to support eligible ECEC services build capacity and operate sustainably under the childcare system and increase participation by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in culturally appropriate ECEC. Funding allocation will be determined through a select grant application process which commenced in 2022.
Distributed National Collections
The Distributed National Collections Program is directed at the identification, development, conservation, maintenance and display of collections of nationally significant artistic or cultural material. The training, professional development, partnering and networking, collection support and management activities supported by the Distributed National Collections Program are intended to assist in achieving this core aim. These activities support the strengthening of best practice in the museums and galleries sector. Grants are provided to the National Library of Australia to administer the Community Heritage Grants Program; to the Australian National Maritime Museum to administer the Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme; and to the Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) to administer AMaGA’s National Conference Bursaries Program. The objectives of the Distributed National Collections Program are achieved by: assisting not-for-profit, incorporated organisations to identify, collect, develop, conserve, preserve, maintain and display objects or collections of nationally-significant artistic or cultural material.
General Practice Incentive Fund
The Primary Health Networks (PHN) Program General Practice Incentive Fund (GPIF) grant opportunity (the grant opportunity) will enable the design and implementation of health care services in communities where primary care and related service systems: fail are at imminent risk of failure, or are characterised by ongoing instability. The department will identify intervention sites for where the grant opportunity may be targeted. Once a site is identified, the Decision Maker will agree for the relevant PHN to be invited to the grant opportunity. The site identification process includes consultation with relevant jurisdictions (state and territory governments). It will consider information available to the department regarding community impact of service instability or failure. The PHN and/or Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) specific to the identified site may also be consulted to understand local issues. Phase 1: Planning/co-design PHN undertakes consultation with relevant stakeholders for planning and co-design of a service system recovery plan (SSRP). Phase 2: Implementation Implement and evaluate approved SSRP activities. Funding for implementation activities will be determined through assessment of applications (i.e. SSRPs submitted according to the Application Form). Resolution payments under the Youpla Support Program
This grant opportunity is part of the Youpla Support Program, which was announced by the Australian Government on 8 February 2024 as its enduring resolution for people impacted by the collapse of the funeral insurance provider, the Youpla Group. The Youpla Group (formerly the Aboriginal Community Benefits Fund) was a funeral expenses insurer that primarily marketed its products to First Nations people. The Youpla Group entered liquidation in March 2022, leaving many people without cover, inflicting significant cultural, emotional and financial harm on many First Nations people and communities. The Youpla Support Program will provide a Resolution Payment to Eligible Persons to help them recover from this harm. Subject to the exclusions set out in the Youpla Support Program Guidelines an Eligible Person will be offered as a Funeral Bond (delivered as a procurement) as the default option with the right to opt out and receive a Cash Payment (delivered as a grant). The Funeral Bond will be procured by NIAA on behalf of the Eligible Person. The Cash Payment will be made to the Eligible Person as a grant under the Youpla Support Guidelines.
Performance of representative body functions
The Native Title Act 1993 (the Act) provides for the Australian Government, through the National Indigenous Australians Agency, to fund entities to perform the ‘representative body’ functions listed in section 203B of the Act. These functions include assisting native title claimants and holders to progress native title claims, negotiate native title agreements and resolve native title disputes. This grant opportunity will continue the delivery of these services by funding selected entities to perform these functions.
Local Investments Funding Grant Opportunity
The Local Investments Funding Grant Opportunity enables strategic and rapid response to address local issues to benefit First Nations people and facilitate improved community and government engagement. The objective of a Local Investments Funding grant is to deliver outcomes, aligned to community needs government priorities and Closing the Gap targets by providing funding of no more than $125,000 (GST exclusive) for: • generally small scale, short-term, one-off proposals to address immediate local need and which have community support; • a variety of activities, ranging from small scale infrastructure and cultural activities, through to a co-contribution to larger projects; and • activities that leverage other government funding and may include co-contributions for larger projects with other governments, local councils or organisations. To be eligible, applicants just be invited by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) to apply for funding.
Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Program 2026–27
The Australian Government is inviting organisations via a demand driven process to apply to deliver services under the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Program. The BEST Program 2026–27 will run over a 3-year period, commencing in the financial year 2026–27, ending in financial year 2028–29. The BEST Program forms part of the Australian Government’s commitment to supporting the role of ex-service organisation (ESO) compensation and wellbeing advocates, who provide advice and assistance to the veteran and defence communities. The BEST Program has been updated and simplified in response to the recommendations from the Senate Standing Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee Inquiry into issues relating to advocacy services for veterans accessing compensation and income support, and recommendation 99 of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide final report. The objectives of the BEST Program are to assist ESOs to: provide free advocacy services to veterans and families of veterans improve the quality of claims received by DVA at the primary determining level promote the provision of wellbeing services to the veteran and defence communities. The intended outcomes of the BEST Program are to ensure: the veteran and defence communities have access to free compensation and wellbeing advocacy services the veteran and defence communities benefit from ESO advocates who can lodge claims with DVA that are of a high standard and contain all required information to enable timely and quality decisions at no cost to the veteran ESO advocates can assist in improving claims assessment efficiency.
Red Centre Tourism Development Fund
Program objective The objective of the Program is to develop new and innovative tourism offerings or upgrade existing products and experiences in the Red Centre (Alice Springs, MacDonnell, Barkly and Lasseter tourism regions). Projects must support a bookable product or experience. Intended program outcomes renewed tourism interest and activity in the Red Centre development of tourism offerings in the Red Centre region to diversify/compliment gaps in the market increased visitation and spend in the Red Centre improved local employment opportunities increased positive reputation of the Red Centre as a destination Grant amounts The Australian Government has announced a total of $2.5 million program funding for the Red Centre Tourism Development Fund. The minimum grant amount is $10,000. The maximum grant amount is $250,000. You will be required to contribute an amount of cash towards the grant activities. This amount will be between 25% to 50% of the total cost of the project. The program will run over the 2025-26 and 2026-27 financial years.
Remote Jobs and Economic Development Program
The RJED Program seeks to fund 3,000 new jobs over 3 years to support job seekers currently participating in or that are eligible for Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES), to move into employment. There are two streams of funding available, Job Creation – to fund the cost of wages and related entitlements, and the Community Jobs and Business Fund (CJBF) – to provide funding for equipment, operational costs and infrastructure to directly support bringing jobs created under the Job Creation stream into existence. For the purposes of the RJED program, a new job is: •a job which does not already exist within an organisation and does not displace an existing employee, or •a job created in a RAES Community Project. As job allocations are based on NIAA regions, you will need submit a separate application for each NIAA region where you intend to deliver a job. For example: If you apply for jobs located in more than one RAES region, but all those jobs are in the same NIAA region, you will only need to submit one application for those jobs. If you apply for jobs located in more than one RAES region, and those jobs are in different NIAA regions, you will need to submit a separate application for the jobs in each NIAA region. Further guidance on the linkages between RAES regions and NIAA regions are in the RJED Grant Opportunity Guidelines (RJED GOGs) at Appendix A. The Australian Government is inviting Single Mother Families Australia Inc. (SMFA) via a one-off ad hoc process to apply to deliver services under Program 2.1 Families and Communities – Families and Communities Service Improvement (FCSI) Activity – Component 2.1.4 (Sector Representation) for 7 months from 1 July 2027 to 31 January 2028. The objectives of the grant are: to build capacity within the community sector by funding eligible peak bodies and representative organisations to inform the Australian Government’s social policy support and encourage the continuous improvement of Government funded services.
