Overview
The Australian Government is inviting applications via a restricted process to apply to deliver activities under Outcome 7 – Sport and Physical Activity (Program 7.1) from June 2026 to June 2027. The grant opportunity was announced as part of the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) 2025–26 statement. Funding is to be provided in 2025–26 to Softball Australia, as host organisation for the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027. The Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027 will bring together the top 8 women’s teams to showcase softball on the world stage. Brisbane has been awarded hosting rights for the 2027 edition and will provide a platform to inspire more Australians to be physically active. The grant opportunity will primarily support planning and delivery of the event. The objective of the grant opportunity is to support the establishment of processes, systems, workforce, governance structures and frameworks that will underpin planning for and delivery of the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027.
