The Australian Government is inviting applications via a restricted process to apply to deliver activities under Outcome 7 – Sport and Physical Activity (Program 7.1) from June 2026 to June 2027. The grant opportunity was announced as part of the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) 2025–26 statement. Funding is to be provided in 2025–26 to Softball Australia, as host organisation for the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027. The Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027 will bring together the top 8 women’s teams to showcase softball on the world stage. Brisbane has been awarded hosting rights for the 2027 edition and will provide a platform to inspire more Australians to be physically active. The grant opportunity will primarily support planning and delivery of the event. The objective of the grant opportunity is to support the establishment of processes, systems, workforce, governance structures and frameworks that will underpin planning for and delivery of the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Eligible Applicant
    To be eligible to receive a grant, you must be the listed invited organisation and have received an invitation to apply through GrantConnect.
  • Invited Organisation
    Softball Australia Limited (ABN: 72 092 181 318) is the only organisation granted the rights to plan and host the Women's Softball World Cup Finals 2027.
  • Non-Eligibility
    You are not eligible if you have not received an invitation to apply, are on the National Redress Scheme's list, or have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.

  • Post-event report detailing operational delivery and promotional activities.
