Funding for Social Partner Participation on Safe Work Australia

The Funding for Social Partner Participation on Safe Work Australia grant program will run over 5 years from 2026–27 to 2030–31. This grant program is round 2 of the previous Funding for Social Partner Participation on Safe Work Australia administered in 2023 which promoted tripartism and social dialogue. The second round will commit $5.625 million GST exclusive over the life of the grant to continue opportunities for tripartism and social dialogue to provide support for employer representatives and unions to improve safety, fairness, and productivity in workplaces. The objective of the program is to support employer representatives and unions to effectively fulfil their roles as Safe Work Australia (SWA) members. The intended outcomes of the program are to: strengthen tripartism and social dialogue in national work health and safety (WHS) and workers’ compensation policy development support full engagement in SWA tripartite policy development and decision-making processes enable social partners to work with their affiliates and members to undertake consensus building activities on work health and safety and workers’ compensation policy matters enable social partners to genuinely contribute ideas, input and experience from workers and business through broader and more in-depth outreach.

Legal advice service supporting the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to establish a Jewish community focussed legal advice service to support the Royal Commission. The legal advice service will provide legal advice and information to members of the public wishing to engage with the Royal Commission. The service will run for the duration of the Royal Commission and to be effective, the service must be independent from the Royal Commission, trauma-informed, culturally safe, accessible, and be delivered nationally. The objectives of the grant are: ·       To provide a free legal advice and information service to assist individuals to understand their legal rights and options for engaging with the Royal Commission. ·       To provide referrals to counselling and other support services as needed to ensure a holistic, culturally appropriate, and cooperative approach to assisting people to engage with the Royal Commission.

National Cultural Heritage Account

The National Cultural Heritage Account (the Account) grant program assists Australian cultural organisations to acquire significant cultural heritage objects. The Account helps to retain and protect Australia's cultural heritage for future generations and provide public access to important objects that tell a story about our cultural identity. The Australian Government allocates $500,000 each financial year. There is no limit on the amount you can apply for, and funding over multiple years may be considered. There are no funding round deadlines. Applications can be made at any time during the year, and are assessed on a case by case basis.

Rugby League in the Pacific

The Australian Government has announced a total of $600 million in funding over ten years for Rugby League in the Pacific (the program). A total of $480 million over ten years will be available through this grant program. The program will run over ten years from 2024-25 to 31 December 2034. It will support the entry of a men’s Papua New Guinea (PNG) team into the National Rugby League (NRL) competition no later than 2028. It will also support women’s PNG team to compete in either the Queensland Women’s Premiership or the New South Wales Women’s Premiership and, subject to an assessment of its readiness, in the NRLW Premiership. There are three grant opportunities: NRL licence; PNG NRL Franchise; and Pacific Rugby League Strategy.

Australasian Legal Information Institute Sponsorship

The purpose of the grant is to provide sponsorship to the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII). AustLII provides a free, publicly accessible website containing Australian legal information. AustLII is considered the most comprehensive Australian legal database in terms of its collection of legal materials. The Australian Taxation Office’s (ATO) sponsorship of AustLII contributes to the achievement of Outcome 1 from the ATO Portfolio Budget Statement (PBS) via Program 1.1 Australian Taxation Office. As a major source of free tax-related material, AustLII supports ease of compliance for tax practitioners and taxpayers. The intended outcome of the grant is to support AustLII in continuing to make its legal database freely available to the general public. Specifically, the Taxation Law Library assists in educating the community on their tax obligations, which supports the ATO in administering the tax law and aligns with Outcome 1 in the ATO’s PBS.

Journalism Assistance Fund

The Journalism Assistance Fund Program, running over 3 years from 2025-26, was announced as part of the News Media Assistance Program (News MAP). Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Program 2026–27

The Australian Government is inviting organisations via a demand driven process to apply to deliver services under the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Program. The BEST Program 2026–27 will run over a 3-year period, commencing in the financial year 2026–27, ending in financial year 2028–29. The BEST Program forms part of the Australian Government’s commitment to supporting the role of ex-service organisation (ESO) compensation and wellbeing advocates, who provide advice and assistance to the veteran and defence communities. The BEST Program has been updated and simplified in response to the recommendations from the Senate Standing Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee Inquiry into issues relating to advocacy services for veterans accessing compensation and income support, and recommendation 99 of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide final report. The objectives of the BEST Program are to assist ESOs to: provide free advocacy services to veterans and families of veterans improve the quality of claims received by DVA at the primary determining level promote the provision of wellbeing services to the veteran and defence communities. The intended outcomes of the BEST Program are to ensure: the veteran and defence communities have access to free compensation and wellbeing advocacy services the veteran and defence communities benefit from ESO advocates who can lodge claims with DVA that are of a high standard and contain all required information to enable timely and quality decisions at no cost to the veteran ESO advocates can assist in improving claims assessment efficiency.

National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program 2026

The objectives of the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program are to: increase overall levels of touring by National Collecting Institutions with particular emphasis on multiple venue tours; promote broad access to Australian cultural material through touring works from the collections of the National Collecting Institutions, with particular emphasis on providing access for audiences in regional areas; promote international awareness of Australia’s cultural heritage through touring Australian cultural material from National Collecting Institutions overseas; expand Australian appreciation of international cultural material through enabling National Collecting Institutions to bring works from international collections for exhibition or touring within Australia; and encourage partnerships and collaboration between the National Collecting Institutions and with other institutions (archives, galleries, libraries, and museums) across the collections sector, particularly in regional areas. Funding is delivered through two streams: projects involving either development of tours or delivery of tours, supporting costs such as research, design, production, transport, installation, and personnel. The Program delivers one funding round each year, usually opening in February/March and closing in late March/ early April. The Minister for the Arts (or their delegate) approves funding under the Program Guidelines.
