Overview

The objective of the National Performing Arts Training grant is to support the National Performing Arts Training Organisations to provide access to training for talented young Australians who aspire to national and international careers in the performing arts. The National Performing Arts Training grant will provide funding of $157 million over six years from 2023-24. Grants will be provided to large budget international screen productions undertaking filming in Australia that perform strongly against the assessment criteria.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Eligible Organisations
    Funding is provided to seven national performing arts training organisations: The Australian Ballet School, The Australian National Academy of Music, The Australian Youth Orchestra, The Flying Fruit Fly Circus, NAISDA Dance College, The National Institute of Circus Arts, and The National Institute of Dramatic Art.
  • Organisation Type
    Must be an Australian incorporated not-for-profit organisation with an active ABN and registered for GST if required.
  • Compliance
    Must not have any outstanding reports, acquittals, or serious breaches relating to any Commonwealth funding.
  • Personnel Checks
    All personnel must maintain Working with Vulnerable People registration and Working with Children check.
