Overview
The Program is managed under Outcome 1: Health Policy, Access and Support, Program 1.1: Health Research, Coordination and Access of the Portfolio Budget Statements. The Health Research, Coordination and Access Program aims to better equip Australia to meet current and future health needs of all Australians through the delivery of evidence-based health policies; improved access to comprehensive and coordinated health care; ensuring sustainable funding for health services, research and technologies; and protecting the health and safety of the Australian community. The Accelerating Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Research through the Neale Daniher MND Clinical Network grant opportunity aims to establish the Neale Daniher MND Clinical Network (the Network) through an investment of $40.1 million over four years (from 2025-26). The Network will accelerate the development and delivery of effective treatments, expand clinical trials, transform outcomes for patients with MND – and ultimately a cure for MND, a devasting neurodegenerative disease with no cure and an average life expectance of 27 months post diagnosis.
